Your Voice Matters

I honestly think everyone should be creating something.

Whether it’s music, art, blogs, videos, literally anything.

I don’t think it matters what you create, I just think everyone should have some sort of creative outlet.

Not even for the money or fame.

You deserve to have a voice.

I was thinking about this today in the gym.

I don’t really care how many views my blogs get.

Of course it’s nice when people read them, but that’s never been the reason I started writing.

I don’t get hundreds of DMs or much feedback from people reading my stuff.

But every now and then, someone will message me about something I’ve written.

Sometimes they’ll tell me they relate.

Other times they’ll say something I wrote made them think differently about their own life.

That’s genuinely one of the craziest feelings.

Because imagine writing something completely random while sitting on the toilet (literally sitting on the toilet rn) or in your room, posting it and going about your day.

Then somewhere in the world, someone reads it and suddenly starts questioning something about their own life.

Maybe it motivates them to finally do something they’ve been putting off.

Maybe it makes them feel less alone.

Maybe it just makes them think.

It’s crazy how something so small to you can mean so much to somebody else.

That’s why I think creating is so important.

We all have different experiences.

Different opinions.

Different ways of looking at life.

Something you’ve experienced that you think is completely normal might be the exact thing somebody else needs to hear.

But they’ll never hear it if you keep everything to yourself.

I think people get too caught up in the numbers.

How many followers they have.

How many views their videos get.

Whether people are liking or sharing their stuff.

Obviously it’s nice to have an audience, I’m not going to pretend it isn’t.

But why does everything need to reach thousands of people before we consider it worthy?

What if only 5 people read your blog?

What if only 10 people listen to your music?

Does that suddenly mean what you created has no value?

I don’t think so.

We all find inspiration in the most random places.

A conversation with a stranger.

A song you heard driving home at 2am.

A video someone posted.

A random blog written by some guy sitting on his toilet lool.

That’s literally the beauty of life.

You never really know what might resonate with somebody.

I think that’s enough of a reason to put your thoughts and ideas out into the world.

You don’t need to be an expert.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You don’t even need to be particularly good at it when you start.

Just create something.

Because one day, when you’re looking back at your life, I think you’ll be glad you actually expressed yourself instead of keeping everything in your head.

Even if your audience was only 5 people.

At least you had a voice.

And that’s what matters.
