Not All Struggle Makes You Stronger
People love saying “struggle makes you stronger.”
But that’s chosen struggles.
A lot of people’s struggles are involuntary.
There’s a difference between choosing to wake up early and grind on your business and being forced to work three jobs just to survive.
When people romanticise struggle, they’re usually talking about the kind they chose.
The hard workouts, long hours building something they believe in.
Most people’s struggles aren’t like that.
They’re stuck in situations they didn’t choose and can’t escape.
Working jobs they hate because they need to eat.
Dealing with problems they didn’t create and can’t fix.
That doesn’t make you stronger. It just drains you.
Acting like all struggle is the same is bullshit.
Chosen struggle has a purpose.
You know why you’re doing it. You can see the end goal.
Involuntary struggle is just surviving.
So stop telling people their pain is making them better when they’re just trying to make it through the day.
Not all struggle builds character.
Some of it just hurts.
