My Obsession With Optimising Everything
If I had a dollar for every time I asked ChatGPT a question on a daily basis… I’d be able to get a cheeky Nando’s everyday.
But that’s not the point.
Since I talk to Chat everyday for basic questioning I asked it this:
“What is something you’ve noticed about me, One thing”
And chat said…
“The obsession with optimisation.”
“This is something that clearly shows up across many of your questions and decisions.
You are constantly trying to optimise everything.
Most people operate randomly.
You operate like you are trying to engineer outcomes.
You want the most efficient path.
Optimisation is both: • your superpower • and sometimes your trap
It pushes you to improve faster than most people.
But it can also make you obsess over tiny variables.”
Crazy that it knows me so well loool
If I were to explain it I’d say…
I want to know what’s coming.
Control the variables.
Remove the guesswork.
Because most people just react to things as if they’re not in control.
Something goes wrong and they scramble.
They didn’t see it coming because they never looked ahead.
I look ahead.
If I’m building something, I’ve already thought 3 steps past where I am now.
Because I don’t like being caught off guard.
That’s the difference between optimisation and control.
Optimisation is making things perfect.
Control is making sure you’re never blindsided.
And I am a Control freak in every aspect of my life.
I think the whole point of this post is to say yes you can create something amazing and believe in yourself 1000% but don’t be oblivious to the things that might come along with that.
Be prepared…
Hard things don’t come easy and easy things don’t come hard???
So yeah.
New week tomorrow let’s get it!
