Can You Control Who You Are?
You can control what you think.
You can control how you think.
Therefore you can control who you are.
Almost everything I was taught growing up had to be erased.
In order for me to be who I am today I had to unlearn all the âpoorâ mentality things my mother taught me.
You decide what thoughts you entertain.
What beliefs you hold.
What stories you tell yourself about who you are.
Those thoughts become your actions.
Your actions become your habits.
Your habits become who you are.
So if you donât like who you are right now, change how you think.
Stop telling yourself youâre bad with money.
Stop saying youâre not a morning person.
Stop repeating the same limiting beliefs youâve had for years.
Because the more you think it, the more true it becomes.
Your brain doesnât know the difference between whatâs real and what you keep telling it is real.
So if you keep saying youâre lazy, youâll act lazy.
If you keep saying youâre not disciplined, you wonât be.
If you keep saying you canât do something, you wonât even try.
So flip it.
Start thinking like the person you want to be.
Start acting like them.
Start making decisions like them.
Eventually, you wonât be pretending anymore.
Youâll just be that person.
Because you are what you think.
Therefore you control who you are.
