A Quick Conversation That Meant Something
I was outside this afternoon talking to one of my neighbours.
Just a normal conversation.
Then he casually mentioned there’s a 10k run coming up in a few weeks.
And without really overthinking it…
I signed up.
Something about it felt right.
Because a few years ago, I made a promise to myself.
During a time when a family member was battling cancer.
I remember this organisation that was helping asked me to do it but I was mentally messed up.
But now?
They’ve beaten it.
They’re good.
And hearing about that run today felt like a reminder.
Like I’d been given another chance to actually do what I said I would.
No waiting until I feel “ready”.
I’ve signed up.
And now I’m going to train for it.
It’s funny how things come back around.
How something you said years ago can just reappear in a random moment.
In a random conversation.
At a random time.
But it’s not really random.
It’s just life giving you the opportunity again.
And this time, I’m taking it.
A few weeks from now, I’ll be running my first 10k race where I’ll get a medal etc.
Following through on my word even if it’s a few years later!
